What To See & Do From Your Provence Rental

See Useful Links Below

WANDER THROUGH THE WILD ALPILLES  Visit Les-Baux-de-Provence, 10 minutes away by car through the Alpilles.  Afterwards, dine at one of the top restaurants there (such as the luxurious L'Oustau de Baumaniere) or in neighboring Maussane (the foremost olive producer of France).  Or, enjoy one of the many simple restaurants in the area, or farther afield in Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

Provence Wines

SHOP IN SAINT-REMY OR AVIGNON  Wander down the Van Gogh pathway from the Roman ruins in Glanum through Saint-Rémy, where you can browse through the chic art galleries and home decorating or clothing stores in the medieval town.  The charming hilltop village of Eygalières is 20 minutes away, as is the papal town of Avignon (its July Festival is the largest in Europe), and a little farther on are enticing Luberon towns and hills.

Provence Outdoor Food Market

SOAK UP THE LOCAL COLOR  Explore food markets and artists' markets in Saint-Rémy; the Saturday Arles market has everything; there is also a weekly three-day antique market in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgues; just minutes from your rental home is Provence’s largest farmer’s market three evenings per week, plus a festival in one of the villages every weekend (summer only).

Typical Provence VillageACTIVE BY DAY, CULTURED BY NIGHT!  There are two nearby scenic golf courses.  Horseback riding is everywhere.  Tennis is 5 minutes away.  Take our bikes on a tour of the local vineyards.  Go to a bull fight or watch the Pamplona-style encierro (bull run) every two weeks in Saint-Rémy.  In the evenings, attend a world-class classical concert or jazz, dance or opera performance, May through September at the various festivals in the region.

WITHIN AN HOUR  You are less than an hour from many other sites, including:  the Roman Pont-de-Gard; the village of Uzes; the Roman arena of Nîmes;  the charming shopping streets of Aix-en-Provence; the hillside village of Gordes and the red ochre-colored village of Rousillon; the quaint shops of Vaison-la-Romaine with the scenic hillside vineyards of Gigondas along the way; lunch at the old port of Marseille after a shopping trip; rafting on the Ardèche river; and the list of options goes on!
